The 2nd AAMO Council Meeting of 2017 and 6th AGM was held in Goa, India from the 12th – 14th October 2017.
A tropical paradise, Goa was a breathtaking welcome to the delegates from Malaysia, Nepal, Australia and Macau courtesy of Ms Rekha Sethi and her team at the All India Management Association (AIMA) who played host to the AAMO Meeting. Events kicked-off with a welcome cocktail and dinner at the resort graciously hosted by AIMA.
The meetings began on the 12 October 2017. Most notably, the meeting format was altered to include a strategy meeting to discuss the way forward for AAMO, specifically with regards to increasing the value of AAMO for its members and the methods and means to increase engagement with other countries and organisations within the Asian Pacific region.
The Council Meeting was attended by delegates from the Malaysian Institute of Management, All India Management Association, Macau Management Association, Institute of Managers & Leaders (previously known as the Australian Institute of Management) and Management Association of Nepal. The discussion centered around activities for the following year, including the role of each National Management Organisation (NMO), commitment of each NMO to contribute to the AAMO publication, and collaboration amongst each other to jointly promote events within the region hosted by its fellow members. Furthermore, the meeting confirmed that Reciprocal International Membership benefits is an initiative that shows a lot of promise, and there have already been an influx of inquiries from individuals to join NMOs that have launched this initiative within their respective organisations. This was then followed by the 6th Annual General Meeting.
In addition to the meetings, AIMA hosted a tour for the delegates around beautiful Goa and capped off the night with dinner by the beach. An AAMO Hosted dinner rounded up the events on the 14 October 2017.
AAMO would like to express its heartfelt gratitude to AIMA for accommodating and hosting a spectacular event.
